At Elite Flooring, we have been committed to sustainable practices long before they became popular. For more than a decade, we have recycled the flooring we removed, keeping as much as possible out of landfills. In fact, each year, we recycle well over a million pounds of carpet and carpet pads. These are returned to manufacturers that recycle more than 80% back into carpet and pads and use the rest for energy recovery.
We have contributed to LEED certifications in both commercial and residential buildings. Recently, we helped a private client (with a fruit name) achieve LEED Platinum certification at its cloud computing facility in North Carolina. Our company headquarters is also currently working toward Green Certification. Through green flooring solutions that reduce waste and promote reuse of resources, we will continue to demonstrate our sustainability commitment.
“At the end of your carpet and padding’s useful life, Elite sends it on a new journey – one where more than 80% will end up in new carpet and pad and the rest will help power the manufacturing facility.”– Sean McCarthy
